Canadian Dental Care Plan

The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), is a program designed to make dental care more inexpensive for Canadians who need it most. Starting in May 2024, the CDCP helps cover dental costs for individuals and families earning less than $90,000 a year who do not have dental insurance.

How Does the CDCP Work?

The Canadian Dental Care Plan helps cover many essential dental services, but your out-of-pocket costs depend on your income:

  • Family income under $70,000: You’ll only pay the difference between what the CDCP covers and the BC fee guide.
  • Family income between $70,000 and $79,999: You’ll cover 40% of your dental costs.
  • Family income between $80,000 and $89,999: You’ll cover 60% of your dental costs.

Not all treatments are covered, so it’s important to check the cost of your care before starting.
